Anthony Hopkins Wants to be Idol's Mr. Nasty

The actor who embodied the evil Hannibal Lecter really just like to cuddle up on the sofa with his wife and watch American Idol. According to Anthony Hopkins, he and his family love the show he admitted to MTV last week while walking the red carpet at the Oscars. The self-proclaimed Idol addict also harbors dreams of playing the shows “Mr. Nasty,” as contactmusic.com described judge Simon Cowell – in any future American Idol movie. In addition to dropping his hat in the ring for casting directors around town, Hopkins is said to have done a spot on impersonation of Cowell right there on the red carpet. Idol judge Randy Jackson approved of Hopkins playing Simon, noting that he is a serious Hopkins fan himself. As for the reality of there ever being an American Idol movie, fans will likely have to wait for some time since there has been no serious talk about such a project at least in the near future, but anything is possible.  As for Hopkins, he explained his fascination with Cowell  by saying that he is so brutally honest, “there is no political correctness with him.” Kind of reminds us of a certain cannibal.
