Venue Owners
How To Host a Local State or Regional Competition
Just locate which of the 10 competition regions you are in and contact the KWCUSA for your materials. Its as about as easy as renting a movie online.
When Can I Host a Competition?
Anytime during the year-long season. You are also free to hold the contest for as many weeks as you like.
How Much Will Hosting a KWCUSA Competition Cost Me?
The Current fee is $250. This includes the rights to send a male and female to the state championships. The 2010 season includes the option to hold two local competitions (one in the Fall and one in the Spring). Registration is available online and your venue kit will include everything you need to hold a contest including; Posters, Rules, Scoring forms, registration forms and a media kit.
What Do I Get for Hosting a Competition?
Many venues report an increase in revenue during the weeks of their competitions. In addition to revenue, it promotes your regular karaoke night if you have one, and is an opportunity to free exposure in your local / regional media outlet.

How Do I Compete in the KWCUSA?
Find a local bar, restaurant, or other venue near you that is participating. Can't find anyone? Contact the KWCUSA directly for information on who is hosting a contest near you, OR sign up using the virtual online entry option to go straight to the nearest local, regional or state competition nearest you.
Does it Cost Me Any Money?
The KWCUSA only allows venues to require a nominal entry fee. Many venues don't require any fee at all. If you sign up directly using the virtual online entry option, a fee is required.
What Will I Win?
Local and state winners may get an expense paid trip to compete in the State finals or a cash prize depending on the venue. Regional winners receive over $1,400 worth of prizes, including studio recording time. Of course the lucky male and female national champs go to the world championships on an all expense paid trip and $1,200 pocket cash. For details, see the official KWCUSA prizes listed on their site.
Are There Any Age or Other Restrictions?
Singer / contestants must be at least 18 yrs. old, a U.S. citizen and be an "amateur." An amateur is generally someone who is NOT being paid as a singer on a full-time basis. See the official KWCUSA rules for more info.
