They are calling her death 'ironic', in light of the "Rehab" song of course; a 'curse', given that see passed at 27, joining the likes of Hendrix and Joplin; and 'not surprising,' considering her long battle with drugs and alcohol.

In fact, her death was anything but sudden. Winehouse, unlike the most of us seemed to be heading straight toward her mortality at a blindingly fast pace, and with unmistakable intent.

Her last performance was so horrible, she was booed repeatedly, and had to cancel the rest of her European tour.

Now her record label is doing what record labels do best; squeezing every remaining dollar there is to be had on a voice that will never sing a new song.

Sales of her current album, "Back to Black," are soaring, and Universal Music is looking for every unpublished piece she has ever lent her voice to.

Successful European pop DJ and dance hitmaker Moby sat down with HollywoodReporter.com to describe Amy's disastrous last performance (see video) in which he was the headline act.

It was June 18th at the Belgrade Tuborg Festival: "From backstage, I could hear the audience booing louder than the music," says Moby.

It turns out that Moby had been concerned about Winehouse before the performance, and wanted to check in with her - being a recovering addict himself, but tour organizers assured him that she was doing just fine and had just come out of rehab.

On June 18th however, he found her laying on a flight case backstage as her band played to perplexed and angry crowd.

Its hard to say if her death could have been prevented. A doctor and a security guard were on staff to monitor her well-being, so it seems as if reasonable precautions had been taken. The doctor saw Amy on the night of Friday, July 23, and she checked okay. Her staff spoke with that Saturday morning and she went to lay down, but never woke up. Her security guard found her dead that afternoon.

Winehouse's father told the media in 2008 that suffered from emphysema and scarring of the lungs, but there is no way to tell if the illicit drugs that she was most certainly under the influence of aggravated that condition. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
