What if Jim Morrison was invited to sing “Reading Rainbow” to a class of second graders? This is the stuff of dreams. Indeed they may be hemp-inspired dreams, but dreams nonetheless. But sometimes dreams come true. Not long ago, the talented Jimmy Fallon fulfilled this ridiculous, slightly wicked, fantasy sans the second-graders. Yes, in full Jim Morrison mock-up, Fallon unleashed a pitch-perfect rendition of the children’s song. I have to admit, when you channel Jim Morrison, everything sounds like “The End.”
The video has gone viral and everyone is giving Fallon kudos for a job well done. This isn’t the first spot on impersonation he’s done either; He’s done Bob Dylan and Neil Young, both awesome, neither mocking. Maybe we should put together a wish-list for future impersonations. Mick Jagger and Bono come to mind. And speaking of ridiculous dreams, how about a cameo and at cool karaoke bar? Oh he would be so good at karaoke.
