Adam Lambert,
Lambert Isn't Happy about Pre-Idol Track Release

I  was broke, I was a struggling artist, I was just a paid studio singer happy to get work. That's what Idol runner up Adam Lambert has been saying these days in an effort to distance himself from a new single titled "Want," which is being released this summer by HiFi recordings/Wilshire Records on an album titled "On with the Show."

Adam would prefer it if the record labels would 'not' 'get on with the show 'since he insists that the music on the album, in terms of musical direction and creative substance - does not reflect the work he is doing right now. Translation: I recorded that crap when I was a nobody, hell I would have recorded the Barney song if it got me studio time, but now that I am a rock god I can get the best producers, the best studios, and writers, so don't let those second rate tracks put a damper on your unbridled expectations of what I can do now!

Surely this is what Adam means when he says:
"I was broke at the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks, so I jumped at the opportunity to record for my first time in a professional studio. The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in the studio working on. I'm thrilled to be working with some of today's hottest songwriters and producers and can't wait for people to hear what my music really sounds like."

Whether he likes it or not, the label has the rights to the tracks and will be releasing them. It is clear that Adam is not happy with them though, and he is also concerned that the summer release of the tracks will confuse fans who may think that "On With the Show" is his post-Idol debut album, which he is working on at present and won't be released until later this year. Hi-Fi records insists that Adam is downplaying his involvement with the project and says that he actually co-wrote some of the tracks. The single, "Want" was released on the internet last Friday.
